Colors Communications Styles, a means to identify style differences and how they can both enhance and complicate interactions. Based on the work of Rhonda Hilyer at Agreement Dynamics [http://www.agreementdynamics.com/], it is a valuable resource, particularly for teams because they need to communicate, listen to one another, and draw on the unique characteristics of each team member. It’s not a personality test. It’s all about how we deliver our message and communication style may determine whether or not someone will listen to us. Colors Communication Styles is equally useful in my work, my volunteering, and in my personal life.

Appreciative Inquiry, a strength-based approach that engages individuals and groups in generating ideas in positive ways. Learn about its origins, the model and how to use it here:
[https://organizingengagement.org/models/appreciative-inquiry//] Practicing gratitude, something I try for each day... the organization, Grateful Living, founded by Brother David Steindl-Rast, has been a source of joy and comfort. I hope you find it as wonderful as I do: [https://grateful.org/welcome/] |
There's certainly more... acupressure, astronomy, music, photography, bird-watching, poetry, and modern art. There's so much out there to learn. And in retirement, I have the time to pursue it. Well, not enough time for it all, but I'm trying!
Most recently, I added poetry to my reading. It's been inspiring. A book from which I read a piece every morning during 2020, To Bless the Space Between Us by John O'Donohue, gave me one of my favorites. |
